Only the flagship Xiaomi line (12T Pro and later) has eSIM in its global versions. Redmi and POCO phones almost never do; Chinese versions never do.

Where to find eSIM in settings
Settings → Mobile networks → eSIM → Add eSIM
Exceptions by region
Mainland China. Chinese versions of the Xiaomi 15 have no eSIM; the global versions have it.
Japan. Only the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G sold in Japan has an eSIM. Every other version of the series has physical SIMs only.
Model and market. Only the 12T Pro has an eSIM, and only in its global version. The plain 12T has none.
How to install a travel eSIM on Android
Pick a destination below; the QR code arrives by email in a minute.
Settings → Connections → SIM manager → Add eSIM → Scan QR code.
Keep your home SIM for calls and SMS.
Choose the travel eSIM for mobile data and enable data roaming for it.
